
• Clinic-based Counseling
Individual, group, couples and family therapy are provided through both agency contracts and on a sliding scale to people of all ages. Groups are formed as needs are identified. These services are provided in our clinic and occasionally in the home.
• School-based Counseling
JFS currently provides counseling services in Ventura County public schools to children with special education needs. School districts make referrals and the children are seen at the school sites. Currently, 15 districts utilize JFS. JFS provides both individual and group counseling. The age range of children served is pre-school through 12th grade.
• Senior Peer Counseling
JFS provides Senior Peer Counseling free of charge to Seniors in the Camarillo area. The Senior Peer Counselors have participated in a Senior Peer Counseling training and continue to participate in supervision.
Counseling services are provided by Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), Marriage, Family Therapists (MFTs), MFT Interns, Trainees, MSW Associates and students. All counseling services are supervised by a LCSW. |

• Justice Clinic
JFS has a free legal clinic monthly at the Ventura site. Attorneys volunteer their time. In addition, referrals are given for free legal service throughout the county.
• Senior Care Management
JFS provides comprehensive Assessment and Care Management for Seniors on a sliding scale fee basis. Services include Coordination of service delivery, home management; referrals for transportation, shopping and cleaning, referrals for and coordination of home health aides and companions, bill paying and management, coordination of and accompaniment to physician’s visits, assistance with residential placement in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and group homes, consultation and collaboration with family members, coordination of emergency response and crisis systems, durable power of attorney and linkage with legal consultation, individual or group counseling as needed, regular visitation and monitoring, advocacy and service monitoring, arranging for religious needs to be met.
• CEUs and Workshops
Classes for LCSWs and MFTs are offered on a variety of topics. Previous topics have ranged from Aging to Anxiety Disorders. Workshops are also offered for the whole community.
• Information and Referral
JFS provides information and referral to social service programs throughout the county. We provide referrals for people of all ages.
• Louise Nemerson Endowed Social Work Student Stipend
A yearly stipend will be awarded to a deserving Social Work graduate student for their field placement at JFS. This stipend has been established to honor the work and memory of a beloved member of our community. Through her dedication and commitment to the profession of social work, she touched the lives of countless individuals.

• Parenting Classes
Classes for parenting pre-school, elementary and teens are offered in the clinic and at school sites.
A special parenting class for divorced parents who are co-parenting is also offered.
• Rental Assistance for Families
JFS provides rental assistance for women and children at risk of becoming homeless. This service is provided based on need and our available funds.
• The Breakfast Club Fund
JFS provides a helping hand for individuals and families in need. The fund, made possible by a generous donor, provides interest-free, short-term loans to people in need of assistance with rent, car payments, etc.

• Senior Holiday Luncheons
Luncheons with kosher food and entertainment are held for Hannukah, Passover and the High Holidays. The Passover luncheon is a Seder. These luncheons are free for all Seniors who wish to attend.
• Caring Community
JFS provides Bereavement groups and other types of support groups as the need arises. Jewish Parenting classes are offered in conjunction with the Temples.
• Information and Referrals
JFS provides information and referrals for Jewish resources within Ventura County. JFS also helps access resources throughout the state and the country.
JFS assists individuals in a variety of ways. JFS assists Holocaust survivors in applying for aid as well as other Jews in need.
• Jewish Emergency Fund
JFS screens for and administers the Jewish Emergency Fund. This fund is provided by the Jewish Federation of Ventura County.
• Resettlement Services
Jewish Family Services assists in the resettlement of immigrants from the former Soviet bloc countries to Ventura County. JFS is an outreach arm of Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society of New York. JFS is also currently assisting Jews relocating to Ventura County from the Hurricane Katrina area.
