ANTI-DEFAMATION LEAGUE:

The Anti-Defamation League is a national civil rights and human relations agency, established in 1913 to help fight prejudice, bigotry, and anti-Semitism, and safeguard democratic ideals for all. In Ventura County, the ADL has implemented the Public School Liaison Committee, which is a coalition of parents and community members advocating tolerance and understanding in public schools, through preserving the division between church and state. The League has also initiated Eliminate the Hate program, a collaborative effort of the Ventura County Probation Department and Colston Youth Center to reduce hate crimes through anti-bias educational programs for adults, youth, parents and community members. American Friends of Magen David Adom/ARMDI:

American Friends of Magen David Adom/ARMDI, which stands for American Red Magen David for Israel, is a support group for Magen David Adom (MDA) in Israel, and is responsible for helping save lives in Israel and around the world. MDA is Israel’s emergency blood, ambulance and medical disaster response team. MDA has a long-term working relationship with the American Red Cross. B’NAI B’RITH:

Jewish Environmental League revitalizes Judaism for youth and adults by providing leadership on one of the great social action causes of our time; promotes environmental projects from a Jewish perspective; provides activities and consultation to religious schools and youth groups.


JEWISH FREE LOAN ASSOCIATION:

JEWISH GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY OF THE CONEJO VALLEY AND VENTURA COUNTY:

The purpose of the Jewish Genealogical Society of the Conejo Valley and Ventura County (JGSCV) is to provide a society for persons interested in Jewish genealogy; to encourage interest in Jewish genealogy; to provide educational genealogical programs; to develop and execute genealogical projects; to serve as a service and support group for genealogical libraries and historical associations; and to provide a center for the exchange of surnames and genealogical material. JEWISH WAR VETERANS OF THE USA (JWV):

Nationally, JWV represents Jewish Veterans and their interests as members of America’s veteran and Jewish communities. JWV promotes legislation assisting veterans as part of a strong coherent national defense program. JWV’s activities express Jewish communal concerns, support of Israel, support for imperiled Jewry, and condemnation of anti-semitism. Locally, Post 123 of Thousand Oaks meets monthly.
