Welcome to my Website! My
name is Levi and I am a blue merle sheltie, born in 1993. My
story began shortly after I was born, when I adopted my human
couple, Val and Bobby Wiegman. I enjoyed those days as a puppy (for more details and pictures,
click on any underlined words) in East Los Angeles, frolicking in
the open spaces of an enclosed community. Unfortunately our
idyllic existence was threatened early on a January morning in
1994 by the Northridge earthquake. Young as I was, I had the
presence of mind to jump up on the bed and bark the 'quake into
submission. I don't want to exagerrate my role in that crisis,
but let it suffice to say that my coolheadedness and quick action
doubtless averted dreadful consequences to my humans and probably
countless others, besides.
Not too long after the earthquake I moved the family to a rented house on the west side of Hawthorne. I felt they needed a yard of their own. It was a nice neighborhood and in the summer of '95 we bought a house a little farther up the street, where we still live today. Often, during my puppyhood and the early days in Hawthorne, we would drive up to visit my Aunt Tasha, who had a house in Camarillo, about an hour's drive up the coast.
In addition to the nearby Aunt Tasha, I also have many Minnesota cousins. Over the years their numbers grew considerably, and their accomplishments in the show ring became very impressive. They now have their own website and you can visit them and get all the latest news and show appearances.
One of the most important things in any dog's life is his first boy. Dylan came along in 1997 and brought a new meaning and purpose to my life. But patience is required. It takes a long time for humans to grow to the point where they can be real companions, as dogs think of them as companions. Dylan has grown marvelously since then and I think that I am beginning to be able to communicate with him and impart an understanding of our relationship. What a wonderful prospect!
Three years after Dylan's arrival, another boy joined the family! Jeremy was born on 10/10/00. It will be awhile before he joins our ranks as an active playmate, but the prospect leaves me giddy with anticipation. What a lucky dog!
