JEREMY!

I could tell there was unusual excitement in the air at our house that day (10/10/00). First, my humans left, taking my boy, Dylan, as usual. A little while later Dylan and his dad came back; then my Grand-Humans from Camarillo arrived and Dylan's dad left again. Later in the day news of Jeremy's arival came and they all left again. I had suspected what was happening, but I didn't see my new human-pup until they brought him home two days later.

Just as it was with my first boy, I was surprised that his eyes were open right from the start. Dylan really took to his new little human brother even though they weren't actually litter-mates. Jeremy's first Christmas was one of our best. Dylan's dad was going to wrap us in a box to surprise his mom when she opened it (picture above right) but we would have had to stay in the box too long and missed too much fun.

As if the excitement of Christmas wasn't enough, with the new addition to my human companions I felt we needed more room and a new place. Although the Hawthorne years had been the happiest of our lives, it was time to pull up stakes and move on. I found the family a wonderful new home in Huntington Beach, barely a bolck from a spur of Huntington Harbor. The climate is even milder and there's a wonderful backyard for my boys and me to play in. We moved there in January and it will take time to get settled in, but we are all enjoying our new home already. I'm looking forward to raising my boys in this great new setting!
